SENIOR SYSTEMS ENGINEER

At Nanosonics, our mission is to improve patient safety globally through innovative infection prevention technologies. We are inviting applications for a Senior Systems Engineer to join our multidisciplinary R&D team and play a key role in sustaining and evolving our existing product portfolio.

This role is ideal for a highly collaborative engineer who enjoys working across disciplines and taking ownership of complex system-level challenges.

About the Role

As Senior Systems Engineer, you will take technical ownership of products at the systems level, coordinating system activities across engineering, research, marketing and operations teams. You will play a critical role in ensuring product performance, managing risk, and supporting product improvements and post-launch development activities.

You will also mentor junior Systems Engineers and contribute to improving systems engineering practices and processes across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide system-level technical ownership for existing products
  • Lead and coordinate systems engineering activities across cross-functional teams
  • Support sustaining engineering and post-launch product development initiatives
  • Maintain system documentation including design descriptions, specifications and architecture artefacts
  • Assess design changes and evaluate potential risks and implementation impacts
  • Perform regression and impact analyses related to product changes
  • Identify, assess and manage product risks, including maintaining key risk management documentation
  • Support resolution of product issues, NCRs and CAPAs
  • Develop and manage system requirements and ensure traceability through verification and validation
  • Define and maintain system architecture, workflows and interface documentation
  • Mentor and support junior Systems Engineers and contribute to continuous improvement of engineering processes

About You

You are an experienced systems engineer with a strong ability to analyse complex systems, collaborate across teams and drive technical outcomes.

You will ideally bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline
  • Minimum 7 years’ engineering experience, ideally in systems engineering or complex product development
  • Strong experience in requirements management, system architecture and risk management
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary engineering teams
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical capability
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritise work and manage competing demands in a fast-paced environment
