Due to an internal secondment, we’re seeking an experienced Senior Medical Communications Specialist to join our Global Medical Affairs team on a 9-month contract.

This is a global role reporting to the Senior Medical Affairs Manager, where you’ll lead high-impact medical communications projects and help position Nanosonics as a trusted scientific partner to healthcare professionals worldwide.

About the Role

The Senior Medical Communications Specialist is responsible for leading the development of high-quality, evidence-based medical communications across key infection prevention domains. You’ll translate complex scientific and clinical data into clear, compelling and strategically aligned content for a range of audiences—including healthcare professionals and internal stakeholders—while ensuring scientific integrity and regulatory compliance.

Working closely with the Medical Communications Manager and cross-functional teams, you’ll deliver best-in-class medical communications that support both medical and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

In collaboration with the Medical Communications Manager, you will:

  • Lead and deliver medical and scientific communications materials, including:
    • Peer-reviewed publications, manuscripts and abstracts
    • White papers, editorials and educational materials
    • Slide decks, website content and training resources
  • Contribute to the development of audio-visual content such as infographics, videos and podcasts
  • Ensure accuracy, consistency and scientific rigour across all medical communications assets
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders including Medical Affairs, Clinical Affairs, Biosciences, Regulatory Affairs and Marketing to align messaging and strategic objectives
  • Lead the development of scientific and medical content to support marketing campaigns, where required
  • Develop content for Nanosonics medical education and training programs
  • Partner with digital and communications teams to execute medical communications projects
  • Liaise with external vendors (e.g. designers, digital partners) to deliver projects to a high standard
  • Manage internal review and approval processes and act as a medical reviewer as required
  • Own assigned projects and timelines, ensuring on-time, high-quality delivery
  • Maintain up-to-date therapeutic area knowledge and monitor scientific and market developments to inform communications strategy

About You

You are a seasoned medical communications professional who thrives at the intersection of science, strategy and storytelling.

What you’ll bring

  • Undergraduate degree (or higher) in a bioscience, medical, health-related or scientific discipline
  • 5–10 years’ experience in medical communications, medical writing, medical affairs, medical marketing or related industry roles
  • Solid understanding of regulatory frameworks and compliance within the medical device industry
  • Demonstrated success working cross-functionally and with external partners

Technical Capabilities

Essential

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Adobe Acrobat Pro for reviewing and annotating PDFs
  • Experience using reference management tools (e.g. EndNote, Mendeley, ReadCube)
  • Familiarity with AI-powered tools to support medical communications and workflow efficiency

If you’re passionate about translating science into meaningful impact and want to contribute to a purpose-driven organisation at the forefront of infection prevention, we’d love to hear from you.
