PROJECT MANAGER, 12 MONTH PARENTAL LEAVE CONTRACT

We are currently seeking a Project Manager to join our dynamic R&D team and play a key role in the successful delivery of innovative, cross-disciplinary projects. This is an exciting opportunity to influence and drive projects that contribute directly to the future of infection prevention.
Primary Objectives & Scope
As Project Manager, you will be responsible for the end-to-end management of R&D projects within a regulated medical device environment, in accordance with Nanosonics’ Quality Management System. This includes:
- Managing R&D projects from concept through to release-to-manufacturing.
- Overseeing multiple work packages across projects.
- Leading cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.
- Project planning, budgeting, risk management, and stakeholder reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management
- Develop and manage comprehensive project plans and schedules.
- Ensure delivery of milestones and outputs in compliance with ISO13485 and other regulatory standards.
- Maintain clear and accurate records of project actions, decisions, and progress.
- Proactively identify, mitigate and manage risks.
Team Leadership
- Lead multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, electronic, software) in a collaborative and productive manner.
- Clearly define goals, responsibilities and expectations.
- Foster a high-performing, engaged team culture.
Communication & Reporting
- Communicate project progress, risks, and key updates to sponsors and senior stakeholders.
- Develop project dashboards, reports and presentations to ensure visibility and alignment.
What You’ll Bring
- 5–10 years’ experience managing multidisciplinary projects, ideally in a regulated industry such as medical devices or healthcare technology.
- Strong track record in project delivery across software, mechanical, and electronic systems.
- Experience working within a Quality Management System (e.g. ISO13485, 21 CFR Part 820).
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence without direct authority.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Commercial and strategic acumen, with the ability to drive results.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
