We are seeking a highly experienced and technically astute Senior Systems Engineer to join our Research and Product Development team at our Sydney headquarters.

About the Role

As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will take technical ownership of product development at the systems level, collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop innovative new products and sustain existing ones. This role offers the opportunity to lead systems engineering activities, mentor junior engineers, and play a key part in shaping the future of infection prevention technology through thoughtful architecture, risk management, and requirements engineering.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead systems-level product development and act as the technical owner.
- Coordinate systems engineering efforts across cross-functional teams.
- Develop and maintain key documentation including design descriptions, specifications, risk plans, and system architecture.
- Drive and support sustaining engineering activities and design change assessments.
- Own and manage product risk documentation including FMEA, hazard analysis, and risk reduction plans.
-  Elicit, define, and trace system requirements aligned with user needs and regulatory standards.
- Perform trade-off analyses, develop workflows, and optimise product parameters for performance and reliability.
-  Collaborate across engineering, research, and operations teams to deliver compliant, high-quality solutions.

Skills & Experience

- 7+ years’ experience in Systems Engineering or a related role.
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex, multidisciplinary engineering projects.
- Strong documentation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Expertise in risk management, requirement management, and system architecture.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with systems engineering tools is a plus.
