MEDICAL COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST

At Nanosonics, we’re driven by purpose and innovation, committed to advancing infection prevention through breakthrough technologies and trusted partnerships. As part of our continued growth, we’re looking for a Medical Communications Specialist to join our Global Medical Affairs team at our Sydney Headquarters.

This is a unique opportunity to take on a global role with real impact - crafting compelling, evidence-based content that educates, informs and inspires across multiple regions. You’ll be working at the intersection of science, healthcare, and communication, translating complex medical information into meaningful content that supports healthcare professionals in delivering the highest standard of care.

About the Role

Reporting to the Medical Communications Manager, the Medical Communications Specialist will play a central role in the creation, management, and dissemination of scientific and medical communications within the field of infection prevention. Your work will contribute to Nanosonics’ reputation as a trusted thought leader and partner in the healthcare community.

You’ll collaborate closely with internal stakeholders across medical affairs, marketing, regulatory, digital and more, while also engaging external partners to ensure the delivery of high-quality medical communication materials across a range of formats and platforms.

Key Responsibilities

In consultation with the Medical Communications Manager, you will:

  • Write, edit, and deliver a range of medical and scientific communications, including white papers, abstracts, slide decks, educational materials, website content and peer-reviewed articles.
  • Collaborate on the creation of engaging multimedia content including infographics, videos and podcasts.
  • Ensure scientific accuracy, consistency, and alignment across all medical communication assets.
  • Partner with global cross-functional teams to align communications with strategic business goals.
  • Contribute medical content to marketing campaigns and support product messaging.
  • Develop content for internal and external medical education and training initiatives.
  • Manage internal review and approval processes, acting as a medical reviewer when required.
  • Work with external creative and digital partners to bring content to life.
  • Stay current on therapeutic area advancements and emerging trends in infection prevention to inform content strategy.

What You Bring

  • A degree in life sciences, healthcare, medicine, or a related field. Advanced degree (e.g., PhD, PharmD, MPH) is highly regarded.
  • Proven experience in medical writing, healthcare communications, or scientific content development.
  • Ability to communicate complex medical information clearly and concisely for diverse audiences.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to juggle competing deadlines.
  • Experience working in a global or cross-regional environment preferred.
  • Familiarity with medical affairs, regulatory, and healthcare industry standards.
  • A collaborative mindset and passion for impactful, evidence-based communication.
