About the role

We are seeking a talented mechatronics engineer to take up this newly created role to support the development of technologies to proof-of-concept stage.  As part of our Technology Development Team with R&D you will act as internal subject matter expert in electromechanical systems and bring innovation and creativity to identifying and solving technical problems.

• Ideate, prototype, test and de-risk technology concepts for areas of unmet need
• Provide expert mechanical and electrical insights into projects.
• Conduct research, document findings, and present reports.
• Analyse data to determine trends and recommend outcomes
• Design and develop prototypes that investigate areas of interest
• Collaborate with the team to formulate engineering solutions to complex problems

About you

We are seeking a creative and proactive mechatronics engineer with experience in technology development.  You will thrive in dynamic or start-up style environments where you are required to think on your feet and collaborate to analyse and solve complex problems.

• Minimum bachelor’s degree in a physical sciences or engineering
• At least one years’ experience, preferably in a technology development role
• Medical device development experience would be a big plus
• Competent with 3D modelling packages (Solidworks or CREO)
• Knowledge of a high-level programming environment (Python, Matlab, LabView) would be  highly desirable
• Demonstrates a proactive approach to identifying and solving technical problems
• Knowledge in testing methodology: preparation, execution, and analysis.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Prepared, organised with a focus on delivery
